What to Expect

What To Expect At Bardsdale

We know that attending a church for the first time can be uncomfortable. Here is what you can expect: Whether you are a lifelong churchgoer, or this is your first time in a church, you will find a warm welcome at Bardsdale United Methodist Church.

Who is welcome?

Everyone – no matter who you are or where you have been – is welcome at Bardsdale UMC.

At 9:30 a.m. we worship in our beautiful sanctuary with a user-friendly “Spirited Traditional” service. We sing traditional and contemporary hymns and read prayers together, and our two choirs add special music to our service.

We celebrate Holy Communion during worship, with anyone and everyone welcome to share in this special meal where we are reminded of how much God loves us. United Methodists have an “Open Table.”

What is it like?

As United Methodist Christians, we focus on Jesus, community, and the journey of faith. Sunday mornings at Bardsdale are active. You will be greeted by friendly faces. You will be included in the circle to sing our “Bardsdale Parting Song;” the words are in the bulletin.

Are children welcome?

YES! During the Worship service, our children are invited to come up for an interactive time for children with a story just for them. They are then free to go downstairs to Sunday School with their teachers, or they can remain with you in worship.

Will I be expected to give money?

When you are worshiping with us for the first time, we will not expect you to place anything in the offering plate during our morning offering. If you feel moved to give something, then do so, but know we do not expect or require this of you. We want our time together to be our gift to you.
