Date Nite

This was our 6th Date Nite for 2017 from 5pm to 8pm. We have two others coming October 13 and November 17th.  Three cheers for our leaders: Tom’s chess, Teresa’s building, Yetta’s sling shots, Sharon’s science, Adam’s and Josh’s outdoors playing a variety of activities along with Pastor Bethany’s bubbles toe to head with a hoola hoop!  Kids loved being inside a large bubble! These 7 leaders had 23 kids to teach, help and enjoy!!  Yetta 12 and Adam 13 were youth leaders. We’re encouraging more youth to be leaders. This was our first time accepting 2 four year olds. We had nine kids ages 9 – 13, eight kids 7 – 8 and five 4 – 6 years.  WOW is right!

Kids get to choose the activities they want to play from 5pm to 6:45pm Then we feed everyone till 7:15pm.  This time: pizza, apples, bananas, grapes, watermelon and chips.  Water’s always available.  Then we gather everyone together for a Bible lesson and finally all help clean up.  Parents arrive by 8pm happy to see their kids happy!

We would like to have several more adults and youth to lead a table or play or help outdoors (soccer, races, balls tetherball, basketball or watch).  Some leaders work 5pm to 6:45pm and then go home which is not a problem.  If you’d like to try helping at Date Nite let sharon know 990-5956.

“The harvest is truly plentiful, but the laborers are few.”

Matthew 9:37

“The LORD has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy.”

Psalm 12 6:3

We had 14 kids ages 4 to 15 and 10 adult volunteers.  Rita, Lindsay 10 years and Joshua were outdoors. Lindsay helped kids and Rita BE IN A BUBBLE FROM FEET TO SHOULDERS (thanks for Bethany fixing bubble water). Kids also played on the grass.  In LeBard Hall Pat Morris helped a 4 year old happily make several crafts! Susan Johnson did A “folder craft” that Bob Morris, Marlen of One Step and others tried. Lots of laughter trying to follow the directions!  Rose Ondersma succeeded first!  Pastor Bethany helped kids design jars using cloth, pictures, drawings and yarn.  Yetta 12 years had kids “build with straws and tape“. Harder to do then looked! Rose Dalton played games. Tom’s our CHESS Guru and Teresa’s our BUILDING Guru.  Amazing what the kids make!

SCAREY THINGS AND HOW GOD TELLS US HE LOVES US AND DOESN’T LEAVE US. They blew up their own yellow balloon to LET THEIR LIGHT SHINE and toss around room!

Thank you, God.
