On Sunday March 6, we will join Methodists around the world in supporting and celebrating the work of the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR).
UMCOR is the UMC’s version of the Red Cross and responds to natural and man-made disasters with immediate aid and comfort as well as long-term recovery.
There will be special envelopes in your bulletin on March 6 for you to help UMCOR financially. All funds collected from this One Great Hour of Sharing pays the administrative costs for the year. Then when a disaster strikes and a special offering (Advance) is requested, absolutely 100% of that offering goes to the affected area for relief.
UMCOR is still on the ground in Haiti, the Philippines and post-fire Lake County, California helping people put their lives back together. Besides disaster recovery work, UMCOR assists struggling people around the world with health, water and economic issues. It is well worth your support. If you wondering, UMCOR has an A+ rating by the American Institute of Philanthropy. Please help with what you can.
